Virtual Therapy
Voice therapy appointments are available on site at the Neuro Speech Solutions office in Amherst. Virtual therapy is also available utilizing an online platform you can access from the comfort of your own home. This will require high speed internet, and a computer with functioning microphone and camera, or a smartphone.
Insurance
Therapy is provided and billed through Neuro Speech Solutions. Neuro Speech Solutions is in-network with Medicare, BlueCross BlueShield, Univera, Independent Health, and UnitedHealthCare. For those who are not covered under these plans, we accept private payment and will gladly provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
If you have had a voice change lasting longer than 3 weeks, you should see an otolaryngologist (ear, nose, and throat specialist) who will assess your larynx and vocal cords. The ENT doctor will perform a laryngoscopy or laryngeal videostroboscopy, which allows them to visualize the vocal cords and diagnose the voice problem.
You may also be referred for voice therapy by your primary care provider or another physician. Depending on your voice evaluation, it may be recommended that you see an otolaryngologist for further assessment.
If you have concerns about your voice, please set up an appointment with an otolaryngologist and ask for a referral for a voice evaluation.
